THE FOUNDERS

Dinkinish ( pronounced “din’ ki nesh”) O’Connor is a lifestyle writer, specializing in food, wine, fashion and travel. As co-founder of Purple Reign, Inc., she has dedicated the last 7 years to studying wine because she loves it. Completing apprenticeships and wine programs in New York City , she has devoted herself to the grape in just about every aspect of her life—personal, professional and recreational. Dinkinish has worked in upscale wine stores in both New York and Miami and she has also worked as a sales rep for two boutique wine importers, specializing in Italian and Spanish wines. Dinkinish is author of The Miami Herald's Promiscuous Palate and has written for Conde Nast Traveler, Wine Spectator Online, Time Out New York , The Black Star News, Savoy , The Weekly Gleaner, City Smart, among a host of other publications. She is the author of a handy, urban food and wine guide called Love Oxtails and Riesling: Wine Finds Passion in Foods of The African Diaspora, available for sale through Purple Reign, Inc. She is currently attending sommelier school and is excited about opening Purple Reign Wine Boutique in winter 2007 in Hollywood , FL , with partner, Sandy Dorsainvil.

Sandy Dorsainvil is a marketing and special events specialist with over 10 years experience. She has worked with several dozen successful events including but not limited to the following events:
Broward County Public Schools’ Enrichment Programs • MusiFest Productions • Miami Book Fair International • Vie and Art Collections • Roots and Culture Festival • Jamaican Jerk Festival • RASIN Festival • Haitian Film and Arts Festival • Haitian Heritage Month • Haiti Carnival 2007

Ms. Dorsainvil is also the Executive Director of the Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance (HCAA), a non-profit community organization in Little Haiti. HCAA’s mission is to preserve and promote historical documents from the Caribbean, with special emphasis on Haiti. She has managed budgets as large as 1 million dollars and as many as 100,000 patrons have attended her events. Her expertise has led to the development of The Haitian Cultural Arts Alliance Archive in the heart of Little Haiti, the first of its kind locally. Ms. Dorsainvil sits on The City of Miami’s Arts and Entertainment Council and Miami Dade County's District 5 Art Advisory Council. She has written private, local and federal grants for a variety of organizations internationally. Having produced organized, dynamic and exciting events, Sandy’s reputation truly precedes her.
